TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs 2009

Kofi Kingston VS. Randy Orton

Andy: So other than this match it's basically a Night of Champions pay-per-view (unfortunately I didn't do well picking those matches) Surprisingly, they threw us a curveball at Survivor Series by having Team Joh......I mean Kingston beat Team Orton. However, I just don't see that happening again for two reasons. First, in his last six pay-per-view appearances Kingston has only lost once (Bragging Rights) so he needs to start losing. Second, in his last four pay-per-view appearances Orton has only won once (Hell in a Cell) so he needs to start winning. Therefore, I'm picking Orton to beat Kingston in my heel victory of the night.
Winner: Randy Orton

Devin: Firstly it's nice to be done with this semester. One down and one more to go! Now I haven't watched more than 10 mins. A week so all my predictions are really just guesses. It truly saddens me that I have to go with Randy Orton for my first pick back but seriously a former WWE champ verses former American champ says to me, stepping stone for the former champ to get back to the WWE title.
Winner: Randy Orton

Jon: They wouldn't let Kofi beat Orton again would they? However this time it isn't team Kofi vs. team Orton. I expect this to be a great match with some great contrasting styles. Kofi has high energy and is exciting to watch. Orton is slow paced and gives a methodical beating. This feud with Orton is great for Kofi's career but I expect Orton to get the victory.
Winner: Randy Orton

Lonnie: So I thought there was no way that Kofi's team would be able to win at the Survivor Series and they did. Therefore, I am really not sure who to pick right here. Realistically, there is no way that Kofi should be able to beat Randy straight up in a one-on-one match without any stipulations. That being said, Randy does not really gain anything from winning here as he still won't be able to challenge for the WWE Championship. I feel that the right move here would be to let Kofi win so that the opportunity for him to win the royal rumble and go to WrestleMania remains a possibility.
Winner: Kofi Kingston

John Bob: I think Kofi has already benefitted a lot from just being in this feud. He has gotten the advantage over Orton on every occasion with the exception of one. In my eyes, Kofi is well on his way to becoming a star but I don't think he wins this match. He'll give Orton a run for his money but Orton wins in the end by any means necessary. This way Orton won't lose credibility and Kofi will still look strong in a loss for having a good showing. As of now, I would pencil in Kofi as the money in the bank winner at WrestleMania.
Winner: Randy Orton

WWE Women's Championship Match
Michelle McCool (©) VS. Mickie James

Andy: Matches like this that are added to the card at last minute are usually for the purpose of filling up time and not change much in the storyline. Having said this, McCool should win this match and retain the Women's Championship.
Winner: Michelle McCool

Devin: Personally this match means nothing to me. Really just because it was added at the last min bodes better for McCool. So I have to go with her. Plus McCool does look better and I feel Mickie is on her way out. She needs to lose the Trish Stratus moves and make her own.
Winner: Michelle McCool

Jon: Michelle has had the belt for a while so she's due to lose it.
Winner: Mickie James

Lonnie: If the fat pig was meant to be champion she would have kept her championship on Raw. I think it would be pointless to give her the belt on SmackDown so soon when better wrestlers such as Beth and Natalya are on the roster.
Winner: Michelle McCool

John Bob: I could really care less about this match. We'll say Michelle. I don't see any reason for her to lose it yet.
Winner: Michelle McCool

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
John Morrison (©) VS. Drew McIntyre

Andy: I anticipate that this will be a pretty good match and even come down to the wire. However, Morrison has lost some credibility lately by losing to The Miz at Bragging Rights and Survivor Series. Look for him to bounce back against McIntyre and retain the IC title.
Winner: John Morrison

Devin: I really don't know who the heck Drew McIntyre is. I not even sure how you pronounce his last name and so I have to go with Morrison. Though Morrison has been champ for a really long time. I still think is better in slow motion though, you people should try it. It's pretty cool when you’re as sexy as me or Morrison.
Winner: John Morrison

Jon: Morrison has had the title for a couple months now which would make one think he could be losing it soon. When Rey had it, it seemed they were going to let him have a long title reign that would go down in IC history. I expect them to do the same for Morrison although I would love for him to lose it and get bumped into main events.
Winner: John Morrison

Lonnie: So Morrison seems like he is never going to lose the Intercontinental Championship. Combining that with the fact that Morrison has been losing to The Miz lately, and I think that Morrison will win here. The only way he loses is so that Morrison is freed up for a big push into WrestleMania.
Winner: John Morrison

John Bob: So whatever happened to Dolph Ziggler? He seemed to be ready for a run with the belt and then he just faded away. Oh well. So now we have Drew McIntyre against Morrison. I like this match-up and their recent match on SmackDown was a good one. Given time, this one can be just as good. I think this match could do a lot for both men. Drew can prove his worth by having a good match with an established wrestler. Meanwhile, this will give Morrison a chance to carry a younger talent in the ring and have control over the match. It's a winning situation for both guys if you ask me. When it's all over I think Morrison will still have the strap but he may drop it to Drew just before the Royal Rumble so people will see Morrison as a potential candidate to win the rumble match.
Winner: John Morrison

TLC Match for the Unified Tag Team Championship
D-Generation X VS. Chris Jericho & Big Show (©)

Andy: As much as I would love to see D-X with the Unified Tag Team Championships I just don't see it happening. D-X already has enough star power and ability to grab the audience's attention, and I don't think giving them the titles would benefit the company enough to make an impact. Meanwhile, keeping the titles with Jericho and Big Show means they stay on Raw and I have now realized that Raw really needs Y2J (not so much Big Show). I think it will be the best match of the night and Shawn will give his hometown a great show, but it won't be enough.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

Devin: Really I have no idea but Big Show and Jericho were having issues last time I saw them about month ago and so I have to go with D-X. Last time I saw them it seemed like D-X was picking up steam and D-X much funnier than Big show and the pubic hair he uses for facial hair.
Winners: D-Generation X

Jon: The WWE has done a great job of making the tag division interesting. Around last years WrestleMania most people didn't even know there was a tag division it was so pathetic. Jericho will make this a fun match to watch and I'm sure DX will do something funny to the Big Show. Let's just hope it's not a mooning again. I'm torn on this one and is the hardest match of the night for me to choose. I'm going to have to go with Jericho and Show.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

Lonnie: Jericho needs to be on Raw. Shawn never wants to work Tuesdays. That's all I needed to know.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

John Bob: JeriShow must win this match. I know D-X has never had the tag titles but lets face it....they don't need them. Jericho and Show need them because we need Jericho to stay on Raw. He is vital to Raw and adds so much to the show. Most notably with his ring and mic skills. I think JeriShow will keep the belts until Edge comes back and gets a partner (hopefully Christian) and they beat JeriShow. Until that happens though....no reason to move the titles.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

Ladder Match for the ECW Championship
Christian (©) VS. Shelton Benjamin

Andy: After a relatively boring Survivor Series, I think two titles need to change hands to make the pay-per-view a success and I see this match providing one of those opportunities. Don't be surprised if this is one of the best matches of the night. It's the first ECW Championship match on a pay-per-view since Breaking Point and Christian has won his last three pay-per-view matches which means he could lose. However, Benjamin isn't exactly the elite wrestler to carry the title. I have to flip a coin, and Benjamin is the winner in my toss-up match of the night.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Devin: Really Christian has been champ forever and Shelton Benjamin needs a boost in confidence. Seriously if I made my hair blonde, you better give me a belt. Nothing against the blondes out there, but really I'm just tired of second rate people going for the ECW title against Christian. Christian should just lose his title and then come draft time get to the bigger show in SmackDown and Raw.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Jon: The ECW Championship match could very well be the best match of the night. Both Christian and Shelton are excellent athletes. I expect this one to go for a while with some great back and forth action. I expect them to let Christian hang on to the title here but Shelton should get a boost just from being in this match.
Winner: Christian

Lonnie: I have no doubt in my mind that this will by far be match of the night and I would even go as far as to say it could be a match of the year candidate even though it will not beat Undertaker and Shawn from WrestleMania. I have a feeling that Benjamin is going to win here. I feel that Christian has had the belt forever and needs to lose it so that he can move onto something new even if that means leaving ECW in the near future.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

John Bob: I almost forgot all about the ECW title since it hasn't been defended on pay-per-view since September and I rarely catch ECW anymore. Christian really has been a great champ for the brand but I think it's about time that loses the belt in order to move on to bigger and better things. Hopefully a call to SmackDown is in his future. Plus, Shelton deserves a run with a "world" title for all the crazy stunts he has pulled in previous ladder matches he has been in. This may be the closest Shelton ever gets to calling himself a world champion.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Chair Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Batista VS. Undertaker (©)

Andy: This is the other title that I feel needs to change hands if the TLC pay-per-view is going to be a success. Undertaker has only lost one pay-per-view match since his return (Breaking Point) so I feel a loss in imminent. Plus I keep picking against him so I might as well just stay with the trend. Batista wins in my upset of the night.
Winner: Batista

Devin: It's never good to bet against the Undertaker in a championship match. Plus Batista more fragile than the glass, and if he makes though the match without pulling or tearing anything or breaking anything. Shoot Undertaker may not have to even finish the match.
Winner: Undertaker

Jon: Taker and Batista stole the show at WrestleMania a couple years ago. I'm hoping this match will have the same effect. The WWE has done a good job of turning Batista heel especially by allowing him to beat up Lonnie's buddy, Rey Mysterio. I don't expect a title change here and wouldn't be surprised if the Undertaker still had the title going into WrestleMania.
Winner: Undertaker

Lonnie: What in the hell kind of idea is a chair match? It is just a match where a chair is legal. Chairs are legal in ladder matches, table matches, and TLC matches but that is a whole other point. I think that Batista will win here as I think they will want to get the championship off of Undertaker so that they can have two meaningful SmackDown matches at WrestleMania instead of one.
Winner: Batista

John Bob: Batista has been great since he has "repackaged" as a heel. Undertaker is getting to the point where is wrestling skills are limited at best. Since I see no other credible challengers down the road if Taker wins, I see this as the perfect time to put the belt on Batista and have him take it into WrestleMania.
Winner: Batista

Table Match for the WWE Championship
John Cena (©) VS. Sheamus

Andy: I'm not sure whose butt Sheamus has been kissing as of late to get this push, but apparently it has paid off for him (CM Punk should take notes on how to do that). Since coming over from ECW, Sheamus has been absolutely dominating everything in his path the last few weeks. Meanwhile, Cena has just been standing off to the side doing nothing about it. This is the exact recipe needed for a John Cena win at TLC in my face victory of the night.
Winner: John Cena

Devin: Now this match I have seen more of the story line for. Really Sheamus is pretty good but really Cena is going to be better. Sheamus makes a living on beating on smaller people. Cena is still the most popular wrestler in the WWE and Sheamus is the probably one of the most hated. Unless you're as good as Jericho or Orton being hated hasn't boded well for challengers for the WWE title. I think it is still too early for Sheamus to be champ and really Sheamus gets on my nerves and I've yet to watch a full show this semester.
Winner: John Cena

Jon: John Cena=The Colts....Sheamus=The Titans...enough said.
Winner: John Cena

Lonnie: Seriously? I mean seriously? I hope this match does not go on last. I would hate the show to end with half the seats in the arena empty.
Winner: John Cena

John Bob: I'm still not convinced in any way that Sheamus has a chance of winning this. Which is sad because this is the only kidn of match where I think he would have a chance. What more could you ask for than a title match with Cena where you don't have to pin him, make him submit, or keep him down for a ten count? Unfortunately, as easy as it is to get a fluke win in a table match, I still don't see Sheamus leaving San Antonio with the title. Here's hoping he doesn't get buried though since they have tried to pull him up strong for the last month and a half.
Winner: John Cena
