The Bash 2009

Unified Tag Team Championship Match
Primo & Carlito (©) VS. Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase)

Jesse: Hey look a tag match for a change. I'm surprised they still have a tag division. But I dislike both these teams, but I sense a title change.
Winners: Legacy

Morgan: Oh is it refreshing to see something that hasn't been done repeatedly in the last few pay-per-views. But to the match at hand, I have never been a fan of DiBiase and Rhodes, nor do I believe I ever will be. Rhodes is useless. I have no doubt that Carlito and Primo will succeed at retaining their championship.
Winners: Primo & Carlito

Andy: I feel that it is going to be a big night for Legacy. Rhodes and DiBiase will win the match and the titles for the simple fact that every Legacy member will be wearing a title belt. Plus, Carlito and Primo have been champions for way too long and do not get as much air time as Rhodes and DiBiase.
Winners: Legacy

Devin: I'm going to take Carlito and Primo because their train hasn't pulled into the station yet. I think this is going to be a dark day for Legacy and let's face it, at least when Carlito and Primo hug they are brothers. When Cody and Ted hug, it's like man these guys are gay. Cody and Ted are an example when bromances go too far. Also they ain't cool.
Winners: Primo & Carlito

Jon: According to John Bob's Wrestling Guide (Thanks John!), Carlito and Primo will have held the titles for 275 days on Sunday when they fight Legacy. So that is 275 days the tag division in the WWE has been going down hill. There wasn't even a tag match at WrestleMania. There was a match where a cross dresser won a women's match though. Carlito is a good singles wrestler, but Primo brings him down. Cody and Ted could most definitely make the tag divison in the WWE interesting again. The question is: is the WWE that smart?
Winners: Legacy

Lonnie: I am glad to finally see a Tag Team Championship match on pay-per-view. Even though they have been the champions for a while, whether it was their individual titles or the unified belts, Carlito and Primo just do not have the star power needed. I think the division needs a highly recognizable team that can help revive the division. I feel that Legacy will win here to help give them some legitimacy.
Winners: Legacy

John Bob: I see this as a good chance to give the tag team division a spark that it desperately needs. I wish the WWE would focus more on their tag division. They really have a lot of talent and it's just not used properly. There is no reason why we shouldn't have a good, competitive tag division. Carlito and Primo rarely even defend the belts. They've had the WWE Tag Team Championships 270+ days and I don't think they have defended them five times. It's a shame they were the first team to become the unified champs. Now that my rant is over, on to the match. I'd like to see Cody and Ted get the belts to establish Legacy as the dominant group in WWE. I'd like to have them all holding gold when the night is over. In the future, I'd love to see a match between Legacy and the Hart Dynasty. Throw Cryme Tyme in there and build some more teams and we'll have a good tag division.
Winners: Legacy

Mask VS. WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Chris Jericho (©) VS. Rey Mysterio

Jesse: Do I go with my current favorite wrestler, or do I try to piss off Lonnie? This is a really tough decision. I mean it's not like we didn't see Rey without his mask in the WCW. So, therefore, I think it will happen again.
Winner: Chris Jericho

Morgan: I do believe I've seen this at some point in time in the last few months, oh yeah, at Extreme Rules. But I think I'm catching on to the repetition. My view of this match is the same as at Extreme Rules, I really could care less, though making Rey unmask would be slightly, possibly entertaining. I highly doubt that Mysterio will lose. So yeah, Rey Mysterio to win. I guess...
Winner: Rey Mysterio

Andy: Let's just think about this one for a second: if Rey Mysterio loses this match and his mask is taken away then the WWE will lose an enormous amount of revenue from mask sales. In addition, Rey Mysterio is as popular as he is because the mask is his identity and symbol in the WWE. Do you all remember what happened to Kane after his mask was gone? You probably don't because you hardly see him anymore. So from both a business, popularity, and pissing off my fellow roommate viewpoint, there is no way (and I mean no way) Rey Mysterio will lose this match.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

Devin: My prayers have finally been answered. Jericho, even though I despise his giant mouth, is going to take Rey Mysterio's mask; making him nothing more than Hornswoggle's cousin. As long as I can remember, the mask matches always ended badly for the guy who has the mask. Kane lost his mask, Hurricane has been damasked, and really every super star I can remember with a mask, has lost it. Didn't Rey lose his mask once already? (I think Big show at least ripped it off or something, if not I definitely have been dreaming of him losing his mask) O well, he is going to lose it again or lose it this time.
Winner: Chris Jericho

Jon: I am happy the WWE has kept this feud going on for as long as it has. These two have put on great matches the past couple pay-per-views. I think this is when Jericho loses the IC title and goes on to bigger and better things. The fact that the mask is on the line is what does it for me. Also, regardless of who wins tonight (CM Punk/Jeff Hardy), Jericho could be the heel fighting either. In another great match, Rey picks up the win.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

Lonnie: Well I would say that Rey has to win because he would not be nearly as good without his mask but I have already seen the WWE ruin Kane so that is not a good defense. I hope they do not keep the mask just to sell merchandise. Rey lost his mask last month so I feel it is not too unreasonable to have him lose it for good here.
Winner: Chris Jericho

John Bob: As we were heading to Extreme Rules, I should of seen this coming. The whole time Jericho was saying Rey's mask would be his downfall, I should of known we were going to eventually get this match. Then, as soon as Jericho won the belt, I knew this match was going to happen. I've said it before and I still stand by it when I say Jericho doesn't need the Intercontinental Championship. I think Rey needs it more. Rey belongs in the middle of the card and I think Jericho is a main eventer. However, I think there is an issue that should play a bigger role in this match and it is merchandise. If Rey doesn't wear his mask, then there would be no point in selling it. There are tons of kids who buy those and wear them at the live events (Just look when Rey comes down to the ring and bumps heads with all the kids wearing them). So, this is the main reason why I don't think they'll have Rey lose this match. Hopefully, Jericho will move on to the World Heavyweight Championship picture after this match and Rey can feud with someone like John Morrison or Dolph Ziggler.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

WWE Women's Championship Match
Melina (©) VS. Michelle McCool

Jesse: Michelle McCool is going to McLose.
Winner: Melina

Morgan: If your last name is McCool, you deserve to lose. But really who cares, this is the bathroom/food/nap/any other activity break. So going on the aforementioned theory, having the name McCool equals fail. Melina I guess...
Winner: Melina

Andy: This title has to change hands more often for women's wrestling to be entertaining. And yes, I think women's wrestling was once pretty entertaining back in the days of Trish Stratus and Lita. It's just time for a new Women's Champion in the WWE. Michelle McCool wins in my upset of the night.
Winner: Michelle McCool

Devin: I really don't know who's going to win or care. I pick Michelle McCool because she used to be a teacher and that would be really cool to have her as a teacher. I will bet that someone interferes and screws Melina out of her title or something. I may stay and watch just to see if that happens but I think my popcorn and mountain dew calling me may be more important.
Winner: Michelle McCool

Jon: Why does this match have to be on the card? I have absolutely no clue. Flip of a coin.
Winner: Melina

Lonnie: Michelle got the upper hand in the tag match that happened on SmackDown on Friday, which normally means she would lose at The Bash. Unfortunately for Melina this will not be the case. Michelle beat Gail on Friday so she can beat Melina here without Melina looking bad. Alicia in McCool's corner should also be a big help for her here.
Winner: Michelle McCool

John Bob: I've actually been pleased with the build to this match. It wasn't thrown together last minute. In fact, I've been happy with the way the WWE has been building feuds for both womens/divas belts (Mickie will probably face Maryse at Night of Champions). Since Night of Champions is coming up and all titles will need to be defended, I see Michelle getting the win here and Melina will get a rematch at Night of Champions. I think that would be better than trying to build up another feud. So, Michelle will probably get the win after Alicia Fox helps her.
Winner: Michelle McCool

No Count Out, No DQ Match
Dolph Ziggler VS. The Great Khali

Jesse: What a piece of crap match. I'm going to make popcorn during this. I am also going to put the TV on mute so I can't hear about how crappy this match is.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Morgan: Okay. I don't know who either of these guys are. At least, regarding the WWE Women's Championship Match, I have seen or at least recognize the participants. I am absolutely clueless with this one. So, while sitting in McDonald's (the only place around camp with Wi-Fi), I'm going to compare sizes. Although this theory failed me at Extreme Rules, I'm going to try it again. Big guy, The Great Khali. So, I guess The Great Khali will win.
Winner: The Great Khali

Andy: So either I don't follow wrestling close enough or Dolph Ziggler absolutely sucks because I have no idea who the hell he is. I had to look him up on Wikipedia and I have to say that Nick Nemeth failed to impress me. Therefore, The Great Khali wins the match.
Winner: The Great Khali

Devin: This is another filler match and so I wonder why they are even on the card. Khali has size, strength, and maybe even looks. He does have his own kiss cam after all. Still, Dolph Ziggler is and always will be a wannabe. He is a lame character, lame wrestler, and drops the television ratings when he wrestles. (Not like Vickie but he is on his way to the WWE cellar) I wouldn't bet against Khali. Unless Ziggler can get a small army, I don't think he really has a chance.
Winner: The Great Khali

Jon: Dolph Ziggler is a young, upcoming star. This match is No DQ and without it, Dolph wouldn't have a chance in the world. This match is so hard for me to pick. Half of me thinks they will give Ziggler a push, the other half thinks that this will just be a sqaush and Khali will destroy him. Also, someone could interfere on Ziggler's behalf. I just can't pick him.
Winner: The Great Khali

Lonnie: First off, I love Dolph Ziggler. The man is like a Mr. Kennedy that does not get hurt. I would say that Khali would kill Dolph but the No DQ stipulation gives Ziggler a fighting chance. I just do not see Khali as someone who will use a lot of weapons so I feel that Dolph will use a ton of them and be able to win. Hi, I am the winner....and I am Dolph Ziggler.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler

John Bob: First, for those that don't know...his name is Dolph Ziggler. If you don't know him, just ask him who he is. Ok, now if I could be serious for a minute. Although I would like to see an Edge match on the card, I can't complain because this match has had a build to it. Dolph has beaten Khali by count out and DQ, so the WWE has tried to make the audience believe Dolph can't beat Khali any other way. Seriously though, there would be no point in having Khali squash Dolph. I don't think anyone believes Khali is a threat to the title and Dolph could use the victory over the former world champion (even though we all know Khali should never come close to a world title). So, I say Dolph gets the victory to try to build him up and hopefully he can start challenging for the Intercontinental Championship.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler

John Cena VS. The Miz

Jesse: Really? Who decided to have this match? No way Cena sells out to this punk.
Winner: John Cena

Morgan: The only thing that The Miz has ever done to elicit any form of fondness from me was making fun of the Cubs. But that moment was exceedingly fleeting, and disappeared within moments of the last crack towards the Cubs. So without hesitation, I will give the match to the man whose face is plastered all over t-shirts in the Wisconsin, John Cena.
Winner: John Cena

Andy: The Miz is very entertaining on the microphone, but does anyone know if he can wrestle? Also, John Cena will lose all credibility as one of the best wrestlers if he loses this match. And don't forget, John Cena doesn't lose very often on pay-per-view. He's my face victory of the night.
Winner: John Cena

Devin: This should be the funniest match of the night. Miz has no chance at all, unless he cheats. Miz is going to cheat anyhow, and I don't think that will even be enough. Cena is going to make short work of Miz and move on to his path to regain the championship. Miz 7 Cena 1, he still wins the series if that means anything.
Winner: John Cena

Jon: John Cena should never lose to The Miz in anything. The Miz is annoying, stupid, and by far the biggest wuss I have ever seen. Therefore he does a great job of selling his character. The Miz has been running his mouth for the past couple months about beating Cena because Cena simply doesn't care enough to come out. John Cena will most likely be feuding with Orton for the title after this. The only way Cena is gonna lose this match is if the Big Show comes out and attacks The Miz to give The Miz the victory. I don't see that happening though. Cena adjusts Miz's attitude.
Winner: John Cena

Lonnie: There is one main problem with this match....They can build this feud but due to neither of them being a champion the feud will stall next month when they are not on the card. The other BIG problem is that the Big Show will not go away. I can see Cena winning so that he can move back into the title picture, but that would kill The Miz's push completely and waste months of build up. Therefore, I think The Miz will probably pick up this victory in a fluke fashion so that this feud can be drawn out until SummerSlam.
Winner: The Miz

John Bob: This is my risky (stupid) pick of the night. I don't know how it is going to happen or if it is even possible, but I think The Miz has to win this match. I honestly don't have much to back this with other than the fact that I just feel he needs the win more. If The Miz gets squashed (which may happen), I will feel like the last seven weeks of building him up will have been wasted. Even if he wins by DQ and Cena destroys him the next night on Raw, that's ok. I just feel that The Miz really needs to win or all the air time he has had will have been for nothing. If the WWE is serious about building new stars, The Miz must win even if it is by DQ or if the Big Show helps him. So, call me crazy if you want but I say The Miz must win this match.
Winner: The Miz

Scramble Match for the ECW Championship
Tommy Dreamer (©) VS. Jack Swagger VS. Christian VS. Mark Henry VS. Finlay

Jesse: Yup this match makes me want some scrambled eggs. The concept of this match is very interesting and should prove to be a good match. (I hope). I think it's time for Christian to move on to bigger and better things, other than the ECW. So with that, I once again plead the WWE for at least one Edge vs. Christian match on a pay-per-view.
Winner: Jack Swagger

Morgan: I have recently figured out a general rule when predicting matches involving a newly crowned champ, always give it to the guy who won, but in this case, it was Tommy Dreamer. But it's Tommy Dreamer, enough said. The only reason he won was so that could avoid forced retirement. Now he's over, again. Dreamer, I hope you enjoyed it. But since I can't just leave this with Tommy Dreamer losing, I'll give it back to its rightful owner, Christian.
Winner: Christian

Andy: So Finlay won't win because he is an Irish ass clown. Mark Henry won't win because he's a piece of chocolate that melted a very, very, very, very long time ago. Tommy Dreamer won't win because he just won at the last pay-per-view. Jack Swagger won't win because I picked him last time and he had to suck and lose. Therefore, Christian will be the new ECW Champion.
Winner: Christian

Devin: I don't know. Christian, I think is the only one worthy of this second class title. Mark Henry will be eliminated first because everyone will gang up on him. Finlay is too old, Jack Swagger is an idiot, and Tommy Dreamer needs to retire. Enough said. WWE should just eliminate this title already and save me the typing.
Winner: Christian

Jon: This match is very difficult to pick. Why? Because there are 2 guys that deserve to win that probably won't. I hate doing this, but I think Dreamer is gonna hang onto the title. Despite his mighty DDT and that stupid E-C-W into a fall down and kick the guy in the corner, the WWE will probably let him hang onto the title here. If I was Christian and I heard I was gonna lose 2 pay-per-views in a row (maybe not get pinned but lose the title) to Tommy Dreamer, I'd go back to TNA.
Winner: Tommy Dreamer

Lonnie: I have a dream....That my children can grow up to not be judged by the color of their skin but by their terrible wrestling ability. And based on that judging system Tommy Dreamer should get pinned like 8 times and never be a champion again. Christian, Swagger, and Dreamer are the only ones with a chance of winning this match. I feel Dreamer will win here before his miracle reign gets a Killswitch at Night of Champions.
Winner: Tommy Dreamer

John Bob: I know people have mixed feelings about the scramble match concept but I actually enjoy it. It is unique and I think it is a good concept as long as we don't see it all the time. I also believe it works perfectly for ECW this time around. In my mind, this gives Tommy a chance to successfully defend his title without going over one of ECW's top stars in the process. Because lets face it, Tommy shouldn't be holding the title for too long. So, lets look at the participants. Finlay just came back from his eye injury and is at the point in his career where he doesn't need the belt. Finlay's role is to work with younger talent and help develop them. Mark Henry should have a 0% chance of winning this match. Christian shouldn't win because if they wanted him to be champ, the WWE shouldn't have taken it from him in the first place. So, all we have left is Tommy Dreamer and Jack Swagger. I could see either of these guys winning the match as they have both been on a roll. However, I think the rules of the match make it an easy way to give Tommy an easy title defense since he can get a sneaky pin at the last minute to retain. Therefore, I think Tommy will win but I don't think he'll hold the belt much longer.
Winner: Tommy Dreamer

World Heavyweight Championship Match
CM Punk (©) VS. Jeff Hardy

Jesse: Hmmm this should be a very good match. I can see either one of these guys winning the match, but I still don't think the WWE trusts Jeff Hardy after his multiple drug problems.
Winner: CM Punk

Morgan: Okay honestly, I don't care. I feel bad saying that there's another match that I don't care about, but it's true. My logic here, he won last time, so perhaps he'll win again. CM Punk to hold on to it.
Winner: CM Punk

Andy: I hate doing this, but I cannot decide on this match. It's my toss-up for the night. Heads for Jeff Hardy and tails for CM Punk. It's heads.
Winner: Jeff Hardy

Devin: Now before I state that I hate Jeff Hardy and he should never be champ, I am going to have to say that no champ, no matter how cheap loses his title at the first defense. CM Punk is cool but not a true heavyweight champ. Hardy is a pot head and yes, he should never be champ ever. Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Winner: CM Punk

Jon: It's CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy. It's good vs. evil. It's straight-edge vs. druggie. Regardless of what happens, I think CM Punk is leaving with the title. Maybe Edge gets involved attacking Jeff Hardy but CM Punk will leave with the title. This should be a pretty good match with some fast paced action.
Winner: CM Punk

Lonnie: So we now have a tweener CM Punk that is on the fence of whether or not he is a good guy and Jeff Hardy who is loved by young kids who do not know better. Punk has looked terrible before winning the belt this year, looked terrible in his reign last year, and lost on SmackDown on Friday. That being said, he is bound to get a decent run here so that his chances in the main event are not crushed forever. It is sad that Jeff has had short title reigns (well not really) but thankfully he will not have another one here.
Winner: CM Punk

John Bob: This will probably be one of the best matches are the card if not the best. I fully expect Punk to retain to solidify his title reign. Hardy will come close but Punk will find a way to win. I wouldn't be suprised to see Edge get involved in this match somehow. I think Edge or Jericho could be the next challenger for the belt regardless of who wins. However, Punk against either of those men one-on-one would be a fresh match that we haven't seen much of. So, I say Punk wins a close one and hopefully faces Jericho in his next feud.
Winner: CM Punk

Three Stages of Hell Match for the WWE Championship
First Stage - Normal Match, Second Stage - Falls Count Anywhere Match, Third Stage - Stretcher Match
Randy Orton (©) VS. Triple H

Jesse: No way I want Triple H to win. And my reasoning is because I don't want him any closer to The Great Ric Flair's record for heavyweight titles.
Winner: Randy Orton

Morgan: First of all, HAHA!!! JOHN I WIN!!! WHERE'S YOUR SECRETARIAT NOW!?!?! SMASHED LIKE THE STUPID MOSQUITO BITING ME!!! Well then, back to the match at hand. I never thought this would come from me. Orton. But I sincerely hope he loses. You have no idea.
Winner: Randy Orton

Andy: I think this will be a good match, but I don't think it will live up to the epic three stages of hell match between Stone Cold and Triple H back in 2001 at No Way Out. As I said before with the Tag Titles match, I feel like this night will belong to Legacy. There's no doubt in my mind that this match will be contested in three falls. I think Triple H will probably win the first fall, but Orton will come back to win the last two falls and retain the title in the heel victory of the night. Don't be surprised if you see gold belts around the waists of all Legacy members on Monday Night Raw.
Winner: Randy Orton

Devin: As much as this pains me to pick Orton, HHH and his knee are not going to make through the match. McMahon needs to come and get his own revenge on Orton because HHH will be too destroyed to finish the job. Also, I did state that a champ never loses his first title defense. Orton will also need the belt to keep Legacy as a legitimate force in the WWE. Even though Orton has two gay guys as body guards, without a belt he can't keep himself from being included in the bromance of Cody and Ted. We don't want the floor that he humps in every match to get jealous now do we?
Winner: Randy Orton

Jon: After watching events that have taken place over the past few months, I think that it is pretty obvious that HHH fears Randy Orton. Breaking into Orton's house with a sledgehammer and attacking Orton from behind last week on Raw. HHH doesn't deserve the title...Why wasn't he able to answer the 10 count on Raw last week? Because he gave Orton a pedigree. Wherever HHH goes he has that sledgehammer. He fears Orton. This match has a lot to live up to. Triple H and Austin put on one of the greatest matches I've ever seen in this 3 Stages of Hell format. While I don't expect it to be that good, I am sure this match will be great. Orton is a great champion and the WWE has so many options on who he could fight next.
Winner: Randy Orton

Lonnie: Why in the world did the WWE have Orton lose the title last month when they knew that Dave was hurt before the match even took place? Other than that, I am so annoyed with this feud as the draw last Monday was so obvious since it was right before a par-per-view. Well since Orton won the title, I guess he will keep it here. That way Orton can hopefully move onto something new before Night of Champions and SummerSlam. Wouldn't it be great if the WWE gave us a surprise and the match only went the first two falls? I doubt it will happen but it would be nice.
Winner: Randy Orton

John Bob: This is the match the caps off a great night for Legacy. Orton needs to beat Triple H. I just hope this match will be as good as the Three Stages of Hell match Triple H had with Austin in 2001 (No Way Out) and Shawn Michaels in 2002 (Armageddon). I enjoyed the Orton/HHH last man standing match on Monday, even though it ended in a draw, for the simple fact that both men looked equal. Neither man looked superior to the other. This was something I was very pleased about because the WWE normally makes Triple H look like he owns Orton. So, I'm glad the match on Monday was a nice change of pace. It's no secret that I'm a big Orton fan, but he really does need to win this match for two reasons. First, the Orton/HHH feud has to come to an end at some point. It really can't go on forever...or can it? Secondly, there are so many more people that Orton could face after Triple H. There are no fresh matches with Triple H as champion. Orton could face Cena, MVP, or even Big Show (as bad as it sounds...it would be different). Before someone says Orton has fought Cena before, you need to think about the fact that they never got to have their one big blowoff one-on-one match like the last man standing match they were going to have at No Mercy in 2007. So tonight is going to be a big night for Legacy. All three men will have gold when the night is over.
Winner: Randy Orton
