Hell in a Cell 2009

R-Truth VS. Drew McIntyre

Jesse: When I heard about this match, I was in Walmart. So I asked the cashier who to pick and she said R-Truth. So I'm taking McIntyre.
Winner: Drew McIntyre

Andy: Drew McIntyre is new on the scene and a rising star. R-Truth, or should I say K-Kwik, is just awful in every aspect of life. McIntyre wins.
Winner: Drew McIntyre

Devin: I will take R-Truth in this match. I am still not sure of the new commer Drew McIntyre and R-Truth needs a popularity boost. I don't like either and this is another filler match that is completely unnecessary. This match should have been saved for SmackDown or WWE Superstars. If Teddy Long is in so much trouble with McMahon, then why is he having this match on a pay-per-view at the last minute?
Winner: R-Truth

Jon: Drew McIntyre because he is a young guy that they can give credibility by winning on a pay-per-view.
Winner: Drew McIntyre

Lonnie: So after their brawl on SmackDown, they have decided to add R-Truth vs. Drew McIntyre. McIntyre was supposedly signed by Mr. McMahon himself to be a future world champion and R-Truth, well he hasn't done much of anything since joining the WWE. In what I think will be a glorified squash, McIntyre should pick up an easy victory.
Winner: Drew McIntyre

John Bob: This match was added last minute but it seems like an easy choice. This is McIntyre's pay-per-view debut and people rarely, if ever, lose their pay-per-view debut. I won't be suprised to see a squash here, but I do hope we get to see McIntyre's awesome double-arm DDT. It's pretty sick looking.
Winner: Drew McIntyre

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
John Morrison (©) VS. Dolph Ziggler

Jesse: I hope John Morrison’s hair gets caught in the cell and they have to cut it all off. But even if that happens I’m still not going to pick Dolphin Ziggler.
Winner: John Morrison

Andy: Before I begin I would like to thank the following people from the last pay-per-view: Chris Jericho, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Legacy, Kane, Christian, John Cena, CM Punk, and Theodore Long. Now it’s time to pick the matches. I was going to take Dolph Ziggler last time before they cancelled the match, but now I’m having a change of heart and going with Morrison. This is more of a gut feeling than anything.
Winner: John Morrison

Devin: At this point, I figure Dolph has had enough chances to win the Intercontinental Championship. Isn’t there anyone else to fight for this thing? Bourne seems like a good candidate, but seriously watching Dolph lose is getting old quick. Boo the WWE writers for this one. Morrison wins and Dolph needs a new theme song cause he is nowhere near perfection.
Winner: John Morrison

Jon: This should be an awesome match and possibly the best of the non-HIAC matches. These are two great, upcoming superstars and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Morrison in the main title picture this time next year. I’d love to see Dolph get the win here to boost my fantasy points but I don’t see it happening. If they would have wanted Dolph to get the title, they would have given it to him after the Rey incident. Morrison picks up the victory.
Winner: John Morrison

Lonnie: Being a match that was going to be on the last pay-per-view then got pulled was such a shame. However, we get what should be a highly entertaining match this month. With Rey now going to the tag team division I could see either of these men keeping the belt for a while. I think Dolph could win as it would legitimize him as a singles superstar and break away completely from his Spirit Squad days. On the other hand, when it comes to Morrison, he can lose the belt and move on the bigger and better things, or hold the Intercontinental championship for a while until the upper card thins out. I think Morrison will have to wait as the return of Batista and Rey clogs the upper card. Look for a Morrison win in a good match.
Winner: John Morrison

John Bob: I'm glad we're going to get his match since we were cheated out of it at Breaking Point. Originally, I thought this had the potential to steal the show and be one of the best matches of the night. Unfortunately, I think it will get lost in the shuffle due to the hell in a cell matches regardless of how good it ends up being. I hope these two can have a nice feud over the belt and produce some high quality matches. Dolph will be the champ some day but I don't think it will come just yet.
Winner: John Morrison

Triple Threat Match for the WWE United States Championship
Kofi Kingston (©) VS. The Miz VS. Jack Swagger

Jesse: Holy Crap, Kofi Kingston in a cell? He might kill himself. The Miz in a cell? He might get lost. Jack Swagger in a cell? Um.......I got nothing for that.
Winner: Kofi Kingston

Andy: I think Kofi has held the belt way too long and the US Championship needs a stronger feud. I think The Miz provides the perfect blend of talent and personality on the microphone, so I’m going with the Miz in my heel victory of the night.
Winner: The Miz

Devin: Well I think Kofi’s reign is going to finally come to an end. It’s time to have an American champion again and between Miz and Swagger I have to go with Miz. If we add another American to Swagger's name it might take that much longer for him to come out and try and pronounce his name to us. On the other hand, Miz winning would probably be more entertaining because he is hilarious to watch anyway. Plus, Miz is from Ohio so I got to stick with my home state on this one.
Winner: The Miz

Jon: If this was one on one between Kofi and Swagger, I would take Swagger. Seen how this is a triple threat match though, I think they will give Kofi the victory seen how he is the only face in the match up. Usually in triple threats between two heels and a face the face will pick up the victory. The Miz and Swagger will probably start out working together but The Miz will keep Swagger from winning by interrupting a 3 count or something allowing Kofi to pick up the win eventually.
Winner: Kofi Kingston

Lonnie: So this match has been built up in a clever and entertaining way. And by clever, I mean I have absolutely no idea who is going to win. It is nice when you can just enjoy a match and be surprised by the outcome. Since I have to pick someone here we go....I don’t think The Miz will win as almost all of his momentum from the summer was killed by SuperCena in literally a few short minutes. As for Kofi and Swagger, I just have a feeling that it is time to get Swagger a belt on one of the main two shows after his ECW championship run. Look to see an All-American American United States States champion.
Winner: Jack Swagger

John Bob: As I said at Breaking Point, what has Kofi Kingston really done with the United States Championship? The answer is nothing really. He is always thrown in last minute matches that he finds a way to win. This is the first defense he has had with any kind of build up. Since he has been champion for 120+ days and not done anything significant with it, I think it is time for a change. Although I could see either Miz or Swagger winning, I'm going with The Miz just because he'll be able to deliver better heel promos about being the champ, being better than everyone else, and being AWESOME!!
Winner: The Miz

Unified Tag Team Championship Match
Chris Jericho & Big Show (©) VS. Batista & Rey Mysterio

Jesse: This match seems like a bad idea, there are certain requirements for the cell that a wrestler has to meet before he can fight in a cell. And 3 out of the 4 don’t match those, here is why. Jericho is fine since he is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Big Show is too big and fat for this match. How’s he going to fit into the door? Are they going to have an extra wide door for him? Batista is too injury prone for this match. I doubt he will make it out unscratched. And Rey Mysterio is too small and dumb. Plus he’s overrated. Just ask Big Boss Man what happens to overrated people in the cell.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

Andy: It’s Rey Mysterio’s big return and to celebrate him and Batista are going to win the Unified Tag Team titles. Jericho and Big Show are getting tired of having to appear on both shows and it would really help bring Batista and Mysterio back into the spotlight.
Winners: Batista & Rey Mysterio

Devin: I would be really suprised if Batista makes it through this match. Also, Rey is not a match for Jericho, so is this really a true match. Big Show is going to punch someone or someone is will get disqualified. I think they’re going to need a better team than Batista and Mysterio to dethrone Jericho and Big Show.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

Jon: Batista is back and this is his first pay-per-view match since June. On that fact alone I am going to have to take Batista and Rey. Also, after Rey's suspension they are going to have to do something to push him over again. Jericho will make this match interesting with whoever he's fighting. Batistia and the Big Show is bound to happen though. Anybody need a fresh Mountain Dew?
Winners: Batista & Rey Mysterio

Lonnie: Ok, so we have two choices in this match. In one corner, a team that consist of a guy that has more injuries than title reigns and a partner that is coming off a drug suspension and in the other corner we have two men who have been vital to keeping the guest host thing on Raw working. And whether you like him or hate him (which you're supposed to) there is no denying the ability of Jericho in the ring and on the microphone. Hopefully the WWE is smart when booking this one....
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

John Bob: So, Batista comes back and goes to SmackDown. I believe he went to SmackDown because Jeff is too busy with drugs, Undertaker is getting old, and Rey was suspended. But now Rey is coming back to be his partner. It's nice of the WWE to reward a man who was just suspended for violating the Wellness Policy with a title match. I suppose I can get over that though. Although Batista and Rey clearly have a better chance of beating Jericho and Show than any other team who has faced the champs, I still like the champs to retain. Jericho is great at everything he does and he had worked well with all of Raw's guest host. Not having him on all shows would be a big loss. Also, I think Batista may get hurt again if he has to work multiple shows a week just because he seems to be injury prone. So, all in all, it will be a good effort by Batista and Rey but the champs will find a way to retain.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show

WWE Diva's Championship Match
Mickie James (©) VS. Alicia Fox

Jesse: You really have to be kidding me.
Winner: Mickie James

Andy: This title needs a pretty good feud because Mickie James can’t keep beating up on people like Rosa Mendes every week. Plus I think Mickie has held the title for a bit too long and we could use a fresh new champion. Alicia Fox wins in my upset of the night.
Winner: Alicia Fox

Devin: Why the heck is Alicia Fox fighting for the Divas’s Championship. Really this match is a waste of time. Mickie wins while I’m getting a Gatorade (Mountain Dew is not good for my skin so I’ve had to switch) and pizza.
Winner: Mickie James

Jon: Every match on this card has potential to be great. When I talk about being great in this match, I mean by woman’s match standards. Comparing this to a HIAC wouldn't be fair. Simply because Mickie James is in it means it has the potential to be a decent match.
Winner: Mickie James

Lonnie: This should be an entertaining match, even if it is for all the wrong reason. Did anyone see Mickie vs. Rosa on Raw? If so, you are probably waiting for your apology from the WWE like I am, as it might have been the worst wrestling match I have ever seen if you can even call it a wrestling match. While, Alicia poses a decent threat to Mickie, I don't think she will have enough to bring the title home.
Winner: Mickie James

John Bob: The womens wrestling on Raw hasn't been so good as of late. I'd so rather see Beth and Mickie fight but I guess that have to find a fresh face every now and then. When I think of Alicia Fox, champion is about the last thing that comes to mind. Therefore, I'm hoping Mickie can win this one with no problems.
Winner: Mickie James

Tag Team Hell in a Cell Match
D-Generation X VS. Legacy

Jesse: Wow, a tag team match with D-X and Legacy, go figure. It is kind of a weird thought thinking back to the first hell in a cell in 1997, and D-X was around back then. It seems like it was just yesterday. But back to the match, I don’t see Shawn losing a hell in a cell match, especially to these punks.
Winners: D-Generation X

Andy: Would you pick against Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a hell in a cell match? I didn’t think so. D-X has already won a hell in a cell match together, and combined Triple H and HBK are 7-3 all time in hell in a cell matches.
Winners: D-Generation X

Devin: Well Legacy won last time, so I cannot see them winning again. If D-X losses then it could possibly be the end of them, and I don’t feel this pay-per-view would be the place for D-X to end. I wonder if Cody will wear knee pads for this one. Really, he might want to.
Winners: D-Generation X

Jon: I have to hand it to the WWE, they have done a great job making the tag division interesting again. Remember a few short months ago the Colons were champions and that was all that was happening. Now we have Legacy vs. D-X in the cell and it's not even for the titles. This is great stuff. This will be a highly entertaining match up but I think D-X will pick up the win in the end.
Winners: D-Generation X

Lonnie: Are we to believe that Legacy could beat D-Generation X on back to back pay-per-views with one of the matches being a hell in a cell? Despite how unlikely this sounds, I think it will happen. Legacy absolutely pounded D-X in their last meeting and what would a D-X win here do for them? It would ruin Legacy's legitimacy while not helping D-X in anyway. For that reason I not only think Legacy will win, but they have to win. The only reason I think this might not happen is that it would require Hunter or Shawn to take a clean pin (meaning Shawn taking a pin).
Winners: Legacy

John Bob: I think this will be the best of the three hell in a cell matches. In my eyes, Legacy has been built pretty well in this feud. Especially since Breaking Point. I'm just wondering if this will be the end of the feud or if they will find a way to make it continue. Your guess is as good as mine. If it is the end, I'm not sure what D-X does after this. I wouldn't mind one of them turning on the other as long as it keeps them both out of the title picture a little longer. As for the end result, I'm hoping for a knock down drag out brawl and sees Legacy nearly pull it off. However, I think D-X goes over in the end but Legacy won't go down without a fight.
Winners: D-Generation X

Hell in a Cell Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Undertaker VS. CM Punk (©)

Jesse: You know, the best moment from any hell in a cell is when Taker chokeslammed Mankind through the top of the cell. Please Taker, do that again so we can shut up CM Punk. Thanks in advance.
Winner: Undertaker

Andy: “This is a no brainer, Undertaker wins.” This quote from the Breaking Point 3 cents didn’t go as planned last time, but I think it applies this time around. I know that no title has ever changed hands in hell in a cell, and I also know that Undertaker is 4-4 in these matches, but would you really pick against him? Undertaker raises the belt in a hell in a cell in my face victory of the night.
Winner: Undertaker

Devin: Well Undertaker lost last time, but Undertaker losing twice will not happen. Undertaker has been in a hell in a cell match before and CM Punk has his moral values to draw from for experience. Hell in a cell gives CM Punk nowhere to hide and not many wrestlers, if any wrestlers, can take on Undertaker head on. I’m not sure even God can save CM Punk from the beating he’s about to get.
Winner: Undertaker

Jon: It was obvious that when Taker came back that they would hold off on giving him the title until HIAC. This is Taker's match. I love CM Punk as a wrestler and a character but he doesn't have a shot in this one. Undertaker will tombstone his way to another championship reign.
Winner: Undertaker

Lonnie: CM Punk has been absolute gold these last few months. Letting him turn heel was one of the smartest moves of this year. I think Punk keeping the title would be a good choice so that he can be showcased at WWE Bragging Rights like he deserves. And by the way, who has lost the most hell in a cell matches in history? I may be wrong and he might not be leading, but Undertaker is up there on the list. Look for Taker to lose in another screwy finish even though I am not sure what it could be.
Winner: CM Punk

John Bob: First, I must say that I should of known how Breaking Point would end. I nearly predicted it perfectly. I said Undertaker wouldn't tap and he didn't. I said Punk wouldn't lose the belt and he didn't. I said the match would have a screwy finish and well...it did. I just thought it would have been a stupid DQ or something. But the WWE decided to go with the good old screwjob. I should of seen it coming. Oh well...on to their hell in a cell match. I'm actually thinking CM Punk is going to win this thing. Hopefully Undertaker does the right thing and puts over Punk much like he did Brock Lesnar at No Mercy in 2002. Look at it this way, Undertaker is already a sure hall of famer and another title reign won't matter much in the long run. On the other hand, CM Punk beating Taker inside the cell would be huge for his career. Another question must be asked....who challenges for the belt next? My guess would be Batista. If that is correct, I don't want to see Taker vs. Batista again as we saw that a bunch in 2007. So, I'm saying Punk wins and goes on to feud with Batista and the WWE will find something for Undertaker to do.
Winner: CM Punk

Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship
John Cena (©) VS. Randy Orton

Jesse: Please win Randy, I need the points. But I doubt he will, since I see John Cena holding onto this belt for 3 ½ years, because WWE loves his 3 basic moves.
Winner: John Cena

Andy: I feel like this match can go either way. Orton has been in one hell in a cell match and lost to the Undertaker, but Cena has never been in a hell in a cell. I'm saving this one for my toss-up match of the night. Heads-Orton, tails-Cena. It's tails and Cena with the victory.
Winner: John Cena

Devin: I have to take John Cena because hell in a cell is all about determination and lets face it Orton is not the most determined person. Orton's only real shot at winning this is to punt Cena. But before that can happen, Cena will get him in the STFU and Orton will quit again. Cena wins again with his small but effective set of moves.
Winner: John Cena

Jon: Cena's first HIAC match and it will be a victorious one. I expect great things from Orton as well since his first HIAC match was a great one. Mind you that was with the Undertaker, but Orton did a great job in that match as well. They wouldn't take the title from Cena a month after winning it. Has potential to be one of the matches of the year.
Winner: John Cena

Lonnie: With picks like Legacy and CM Punk you might think I am done going out on a limb. But after last month's tragedy of a night that I had I need to make up points. Not only do I need to make up ground, but I honestly think that Randy Orton will win here. As shown by Batista's great reign this summer and the World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE does not hesitate to have short title reigns. After getting beat on top of the cell, then losing again on SmackDown Orton has nowhere to go but up. Maybe to the top of the cell to win in the main event, or maybe just figuratively. This would set up a great heel vs. heel match with Punk at Bragging Rights and would allow Cena to have another high profile match as he does not need the championship to draw attention.
Winner: Randy Orton

John Bob: This is the toughest decision I've had to make since we started writing "Our 3 Cents". As much as I'd love for Orton to regain the gold, I just don't see it happening. He has too much going against him. First, Cena thrives in a brawling environment. Just look back at Breaking Point for one example. He took tons of punishment and still won. He's thrived in TLC matches, last man standing matches, and falls count anywhere matches. Second, he just won the belt three weeks ago. I'd be really suprised if they gave the belt right back to Orton. Third and perhaps the most important reason why I'm going with Cena, NO title has ever changed hands inside hell in a cell. Not the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship. I think this will hold true when the night is over and Cena and CM Punk will both still be champion.
Winner: John Cena
