Breaking Point 2009
Singapore Cane Match
Kane VS. The Great Khali
Jesse: Just shoot me now. Really? Lets waste space on a WWE pay-per-view card for this match that should be on heat. Actually I think WWE would have to pay me to watch this match. Why can't they just put Chavo and Hornswoggle in this spot?
Winner: The Great Khali
Andy: Why do these guys keep taking the place of a great United States Championship match on pay-per-view? Just like last pay-per-view, I'm making them my toss-up match. Heads is Khali, tails is Kane. It is tails and Kane with the victory.
Winner: Kane
Devin: Well I don't know but I'm willing to bet Khali doesn't get screwed over in this match. It's round two and now they have weapons and I'd rather take a shot from Kane than Khali so I'm gonna go with Khali even though he failed me last time.
Winner: The Great Khali
Jon: Well at least with the Singapore Canes this one could be interesting. Two huge guys beating each other with sticks. I have no idea what the WWE is doing with these two except wasting good talent like Kane's.
Winner: Kane
Lonnie: I really am not sure on this one. This has been a decent feud but unfortunately the matches have been poor. Hopefully, adding a cane to this match will make it watchable. Because I think that this feud will continue for some reason. I believe that Khali will win since Kane won at SummerSlam.
Winner: The Great Khali
John Bob: I'm not sure how this match is going to work but I don't think it will be good. Will they put a cane on a pole and make them climb up and get it (I hope not because neither man can climb well) or will both guys just start with a cane and beat the crap out of each other. Who knows? Either way I just hope this is a short match so the other six matches can have a decent amount of time. As to who wins, I'll say Khali since Kane won at SummerSlam.
Winner: The Great Khali
WWE United States Championship Match
Kofi Kingston (©) VS. The Miz
Jesse: Let's keep the streak of nobody from Ohio winning.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Andy: Kofi because The Miz is not awesome...he's terrible.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Devin: I don't really know but I guess when in doubt you go with the champ. Miz has been winning a lot as of late but he hasn't really been beating high calibur talent and so Kofi is the logical choice. It will be close but I gotta go with Kofi.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Jon: Kofi will beat The Miz because he is better.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Lonnie: So this match was added to the card after not being built up very well. Due to the fact that neither man was on Raw this past Monday, I highly doubt a title change would be taking place. At an event with many stipulations that are pretty rare, I just hope that this match will be given time to shine as I feel these two could put on a great match. No surprise title change will happen here.
Winner: Kofi Kingston
John Bob: Seeing at this match was added at the last minute, it seems unlikely that the title will change hands, but I'm thinking the title will change. Kofi really hasn't done anything with the belt in the three months he has been champion and a loss doesn't hurt his credibility in my eyes. If given about ten minutes or so, this could be a good match. The Miz is good on the mic and imagine the promos he can cut once he becomes the champion.
Winner: The Miz
ECW Championship Match
Christian VS. William Regal w/ Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson
Jesse: Once again I ask myself, what is William Regal still doing in the WWE. I have respect for him, but I think it's time for him to hang up his tights and have some crumpets and tea.
Winner: Christian
Andy: I would rather take my chances on the guy who beat his opponent in five seconds at SummerSlam than the guy who lost to his opponent in five seconds at SummerSlam.
Winner: Christian
Devin: I could see Christian losing this match simply because he has the numbers against him. Plus, I feel like it's time for a new champ. Unfortunately it's William Regal which really bites because he is old, enjoys tea time, and isn't going to win this match fairly. Still, this is a second rate title and maybe they will move Christian up to some higher caliber talent. He would be good for SmackDown.
Winner: William Regal
Jon: Could we see Sir Ezekiel Jackson making a face turn? Regardless of what he does, Christian is winning this one and is already looking forward to the party with the peeps afterwards. Christian beat Tommy Dreamer...you think Kozlov and Regal are anything close to the perfection that is Tommy Dreamer?
Winner: Christian
Lonnie: I am a huge Christian fan, but I think it is time for a new man to lead ECW. Seeing as Regal is going to have the Ruthless Roundtable with him at ringside, I believe he will win in a screw job finish. None the less, ECW will have a new champion.
Winner: William Regal
John Bob: First, I'm just hoping this match is taken more seriously than their match at SummerSlam. I think these two could have a good match if they were given ten to fifteen minutes. However, I won't hold my breath on them getting that much time. As for the result, I think it could go either way but I think a heel Regal as champ would freshen up things on ECW and then Christian can get his rematch at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in three weeks. Since it has already been said that Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson will be at ringside for the match, I expect them to get involved to help give Regal the win.
Winner: William Regal
Unified Tag Team Championship Match
Mark Henry & Montel Vontavious Porter VS. Chris Jericho & Big Show (©)
Jesse: Mark Henry really? There is something wrong with WWE when Khali and Mark Henry are both on a pay-per-view card. Now when Big Show and Mark Henry are in the ring together, WWE is putting half of its audience to sleep. I wouldn't even be surprised if the ref falls asleep.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show
Andy: Mark Henry and MVP won this past Monday, and that probably means they'll lose at Breaking Point. I also think that it's better to have Y2J and Big Show on all shows instead of Mark Henry and MVP. And for the record, there is absolutely nothing sexual about that chocolate.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show
Devin: I personally am thrilled about this match as it's a win win for me in Fantasy WWE (I have Big Show and Mark Henry) so I'm pretty happy that I lucked out like that. As for the match, it should be pretty good. It's not often that Big Show faces someone who can handle his strength. Still, I think Jericho and Big Show will win. They are still too entertaining as bad guys on a tag team so they will probably hold that title til the WWE writers see a drop in fan support.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show
Jon: Should be a good match with MVP getting isolated for a while. Then Mark Henry will get the tag and there will be a big stare down between him and the Big Show. Yadda Yadda Yadda, Jericho comes in, saves his team again, and Team Jericho are still the champs.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show
Lonnie: While I do think that Henry and MVP are a much larger threat to the titles than Cryme Tyme, I still think that Jericho and Show will retain. Jericho lost to MVP on Raw, and Henry was able to slam Big Show. Usually when someone gets the upper hand, they are more likely to lose at the pay-per-view. Plus, Jericho is golden on the mic and in the ring so keeping him on all shows is good for the company.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show
John Bob: This should be a pretty good match as long as Jericho and MVP are in the ring for most of it. Watching Henry and Big Show go at it is pretty brutal and pretty boring. I'm sticking to the idea that having Jericho on all on the shows is a big benefit for the WWE. Therefore, I think Jericho and Big Show need to keep the belts.
Winners: Chris Jericho & Big Show
1st Ever Submissions Count Anywhere Match
D-Generation X VS. Legacy
Jesse: Didn't we just see this match last month? Oh that's right, we did. Why not give D-X a shot at the tag team titles, that would be interesting. The concept seems interesting, and hopefully it ends with Shawn giving one of the spoiled children the sharpshooter.
Winners: D-Generation X
Andy: This is when you need to start looking ahead to the next pay-per-view: Hell in a Cell. I love D-X, but since they beat Legacy this past Monday I think they'll lose at Breaking Point and continue the feud in a hell in a cell match. You can't have a pay-per-view named Hell in a Cell without Triple H competing in one of the hell in a cell matches. I think they may even combine with Cena and Orton for one huge match. Anyways, Legacy gets the victory in my upset of the night.
Winners: Legacy
Devin: I never go against DX and this no rules style match suits them well. Does Legacy even have a submission move? If so I've yet to see them use it. D-X on the other hand both have classic submissions and should have the upper hand. The only thing that worries me is that both Michaels and HHH will have their knees go out.
Winners: D-Generation X
Jon: I like the idea for the submissions count anywhere. It should be interesting to see how everything plays out. I see D-X winning again here to continue to hype the return of Shawn and keep Triple H as one of the big superstars in the WWE. The last thing the WWE needs right now is Triple H tapping out to Cody Rhodes.
Winners: D-Generation X
Lonnie: Ok, so if D-X wins this match where do they go from here?? I have no idea either. Unless they go on to challenge Jericho and Show, but I do not see the WWE giving that much star power to the Tag Team Championships. After looking very good last month, I feel that Legacy will pull this one out. Look for DiBiase to make Shawn submit to the Million Dollar Dream.
Winners: Legacy
John Bob: This should be a fun brawl. I like the idea of a submissions count anywhere match. D-X got their big return win at SummerSlam and I was happy and suprised to see that they didn't squash Legacy and that Legacy actually looked good even though they lossed. I have a feeling that this feud is not over and in order for it to continue, Legacy is going to need to get a big win. I'm thinking this is where it is going to come. Cody and Ted have reached a point where it is do or die, and they need to show everyone that they can win a big time match. It may be wishful thinking but I'm going with Legacy on this one.
Winners: Legacy
Submission Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Undertaker VS. CM Punk (©)
Jesse: So I've come to a conclusion that I'm not going to win this whole 3 cents challenge. I think I'm putting too much thought into my picks, or maybe not enough. But I want to give my fans this, I WILL WIN THE
FANTASY THINGY. I will do everything that I can to crush and humiliate my competition, I guarantee it. Ok now that I got that off my chest, onto this match. I don't really care who wins.
Winner: Undertaker
Andy: Undertaker seems to have about the same amount of wins and losses in his return matches. I think CM Punk will win this match in my heel victory of the night. However, I am willing to bet that these two will meet again at Hell in a Cell and Undertaker will win that match in the cell.
Winner: CM Punk
Devin: CM Punk shouldn't be champ and who in their right mind would bet against Undertaker? Really a no brainer Undertaker wins.
Winner: Undertaker
Jon: CM Punk will probably still be champion after the night is over considering next month at Hell In a Cell is when Taker will win the title. The Undertaker will not lose this match though. There will probably be a DQ somewhere along the way. CM Punk won't make Taker tap. The only way this match is ending clean is if Taker makes Punk tap with the gogoplata.
Winner: Undertaker
Lonnie: So if Undertaker wins here, there is no way that I can see CM Punk winning the belt back in a Hell in a Cell at the next pay-per-view. On the other hand, I cannot imagine the Undertaker submitting to Punk. I mean the sight of Undertaker tapping out is weird. Unless Taker pulls an Austin and passes out, I think he will win the belt here to validate his return.
Winner: Undertaker
John Bob: I would say this is going to be the match of night but I have a feeling it is going to have a screwy finish. I think there is a small chance that CM Punk loses the title since he just got it three weeks ago. However, I think there is an even smaller chance that Undertaker taps out. So, I'm expecting a screwy finish where Punk keeps the belt but Taker gets the win in his first pay-per-view back and we'll see these guys inside hell in a cell at the next pay-per-view.
Winner: Undertaker
"I Quit" Match for the WWE Championship
If anyone interferes on Orton's behalf, he automatically loses the title
Randy Orton (©) VS. John Cena
Jesse: Dear Vince McMahon,
Please take both Randy Orton and John Cena out of the title hunt. They are both overrated superstars who should of never gotten out of the Intercontinental Division. Actually thinking about it, let's create a new belt, called the "I can barely do anything exciting, and I drag everything I do out for way to long" belt. Sounds like a plan? You could even put a time clock in there that sets a limit to how long they can talk on the microphone to let's say 1 minute. Also, they can time their matches to about 5 minutes. Thanks and have a great day.
Sincerely,
Jesse Scott
Winner of the "I can barely do anything exciting, and I drag everything I do out for way to long" belt- Randy Orton.
Winner: Randy Orton
Andy: This is a tough one to call, but since Orton won at SummerSlam I'm going with John Cena at Breaking Point in my face victory of the night. I think they'll settle the best out of three series at Hell in a Cell. We'll also have to watch how Batista factors into the storyline since he is appearing on Raw this Monday.
Winner: John Cena
Devin: Alright the match of the night and boy will I enjoy it. We all know punk Randy Orton has been running for the hills every chance he gets to protect his title. Now he can't and he is facing the one person in the WWE that never quits. Also Randy Orton and submission don't go hand in hand. John Cena is going to make Orton quit and it will be a glorious night for WWE fans everywhere.
Winner: John Cena
Jon: There is no way Cena is quitting, and because of the stipulation, Legacy can't come out and save Orton. This will probably end with the STF and Orton passing out. It didn't quite work last time but lets quote Mr. Hart one more time. "Enough is enough and it's time for a change."
Winner: John Cena
Lonnie: I kept going with Randy Orton and he kept on winning me matches. Then last month I picked Cena and lost. If this was a normal submission match I would definitely have to go with Cena as he has the STF and Orton has no trademark submission hold. The "I Quit" stipulation gives me hope that for some reason Orton may be able to pull it out. Even without interference, I am going with Randy Orton as he always seems to pull out a victory somehow just like JBL did during his title run in 2004.
Winner: Randy Orton
John Bob: Do I go with my heart or what I think is really going to happen? Easily the toughest decision of the night. I'm not sure what to think about the interference stipulation so I'm just going to ignore it. It is extremely rare for a face to lose an "I Quit" match. The only time I can think of off the top of my head was Mankind (Mick Foley) losing to The Rock and we all know how Mankind lost that match. If you don't know, I recommend looking it up or finding the footage. So, the odds are definitely against Orton and even more so since Orton got the advantage on Raw by RKOing Cena on the chair. So, if you think about it, there really is no reason why Orton should win this match. Regardless, I'm picking him to win it. That's simply because this pay-per-view is being held in the city of Montreal. Montreal has become famous for screwjobs (See Shawn VS. Bret at Survivor Series 1997 and The Rock VS. Hogan at No Way Out 2003). Especially when it comes to submission matches. So, given the city where this event is being held and how there could be a screwy finish in an "I Quit" match (aka voice recording), I'm going with my heart and with Orton. Then, maybe Cena can finally take the title at the next pay-per-view if these two meet in a hell in a cell match.
Winner: Randy Orton
