WrestleMania 25
3-on-1 Handicap Elimination Match
Chris Jericho VS. Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, & Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat w/ Ric Flair
Jesse: Match of the year. No scratch that, match of the century. No no no, GREATEST, MOST AWESOMENESS MATCH EVER. First off, just in this match there are 3 of the greatest all-around wrestlers of all time: Jericho, Steamboat, and Piper, and also the some of the best entrances. And not to mention the greatest wrestler ever, Mr. Ric Flair. Too bad we couldn't of seen this match when they were all in their prime; well, Jericho is still in his prime. I also wish that they could just have a sit down debate type thing right before this match. Just so we could all listen to these guys go back and forth. I don't care if it takes up all of WrestleMania. I would pay big money to see this. But in the end, I say the legends win. And not only that...Ric Flair will also win the battle with his suit coat, which makes us all winners.
Winner(s): Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, & Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
Devin: I choose the legends cause lets face it, Jericho is a punk and needs to be shut up. Also it will make one magical WrestleMania moment. Jericho is correct about the legends wanting the lime light but that's only because the WWE will continue to give it to them. And that's what the WWE will continue to do at WrestleMania. Jericho takes three classic finishers and breaks his own code. Legends win and finally shut Jericho's big mouth.
Winner(s): Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, & Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
Jon: The fact that Rick Flair is involved leads me to believe that the legends are going to pull it out against Mr. Jericho. I do think Jericho will eliminate two people before he is pinned though, or maybe he pins all three only to find out Flair is going to fight as well. Either way I am taking the legends.
Winner(s): Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, & Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
Lonnie: This is one of the biggest letdowns for me in recent years when it comes to celebrity feuds. Mickey Rourke not wrestling Jericho is a good thing as that would be so awful but will this really be that much better??? I so wanted a last match out of Austin here but oh well. As far as the actual match is concerned, I think that Jericho has to win. I do not care how many old washed up men he faces, he has to win. They need to keep him credible so that they have a main event heel besides Orton.
Winner(s): Chris Jericho
John Bob: All I have to say is that Jericho deserves better. He is one of the top heels in the business (along with Orton and Edge). I can think of at least three or four matches that would of been better than this. I have a bad feeling that the legends may get the win and their WrestleMania moment but I'm hoping it doesn't happen. I'm going to go with my heart and say Jericho wins and then gets beat down by the legends and Flair afterward.
Winner(s): Chris Jericho
25 Diva Battle Royal to crown "Miss WrestleMania"
Participants include current and past divas
Known participants include: Melina (WWE Women's ©), Maryse (WWE Diva's ©), Mickie James, Gail Kim, Michelle McCool, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Alicia Fox, Kelly Kelly, Maria, Eve Torres, Katie Lea Burchill, Beth Phoenix, Layla, Rosa Mendes, Candice Michelle, Natalya Neidhart, Jillian Hall, Tiffany, Sunny, Torrie Wilson, Molly Holly, Victoria, and Miss Jackie
Jesse: Let me go through and tell you why they will lose:
-Melina- She's very hot, but she looks like she could slap me very hard and claw my face when I ask her if she could do the splits for me.
-Maryse- Her name sounds like an old lady.
-Mickie James- She's a crazy stalker chick with thunder thighs.
-Gail Kim- I thought she was in TNA.
-Michell McCool- With a last name like McCool, she'll never win a match at WrestleMania.
-Nikki and Brie Bella- Their names sound like something Paris Hilton would call her dogs.
-Alicia Fox- She sounds like a spy or a ninja.
-Kelly Kelly- Who is dumb enough to have the same name twice?
-Eve Torres- No, just no.
-Katie Lea Burchill- Any chick whose last name rhymes with Winston Churchill sucks.
-Beth Phoenix- She's a man.
-Layla- El negitive.
-Rosa Mendes- Rosa's is red, violet's are blue, and if you win I will poo.
-Candice Michelle- Oh Candice, remember when you nearly broke your neck about a year ago? Maybe you shouldn't of came back from rehab.
-Natalya Neidhart- Everytime I hear Neidhart I think of her goofy dad and that stupid goatee he had.
-Jillian Hall- She can wrestle?
-Tiffany- What the hell, is WWE just pulling random chicks off the streets. (I'm already tired of writing)
-Sunny- Sorry Sunny. I like you, but this isn't 1998.
-Torrie Wilson- I hope she stays around long enough just to enjoy her sexiness.
-Molly Holly- Just like Hardcore Holly, you've been around for way too long.
-Victoria- See Beth Phoenix's answer.
-Miss Jackie- Her face looks like she was hit by a truck.
-And the winner, and my future wife, Mrs. Scott, I mean Maria.
Winner: Maria
Devin: Firstly, let me say I could care less. It's going to be an all out brawl of crappy second rate wrestling and the winner will be queen of the sub par wrestlers. Still, I think Beth Phoenix wins because Santino is going to join in and give the match to her or himself. You never know, the Queen of WrestleMania may still be Santino. He can't beat a guy in a match anyhow. Maybe he can beat a girl.
Winner: Beth Phoenix
Jon: This is going to be the best match of the night....to take a bathroom break and grab a fresh Mountain Dew. In a toss up, I'll take Melina.
Winner: Melina
Lonnie: So when I first look at the divas who are going to be in this, I notice that Trish and Lita are both missing which saddens me deeply. I had no idea who to pick as Beth is good, Gail Kim is just back, and hopefully Trish will show up. But then it dawned on me when the King mentioned her Monday night on Raw....Mae Young!!!! She will probably end up being in it, and there is absolutely no way that she can take the bump over the top rope. (And I refuse to think Santino will win this)
Winner: Mae Young
John Bob: Hopefully this happens in the middle of the card as this will be my break to go get a drink and use the bathroom. As for the winner, I think they'll have a diva on the current roster win as there is no point in giving the win to someone who isn't going to stick around (the only exception would be Trish but no one knows if she'll even be at WrestleMania). I could see Melina, Maryse, Mickie, Michelle McCool or Gail Kim winning, but I think I'm going with Beth Phoenix (hopefully Santino won't cost her).
Winner: Beth Phoenix
Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a future WWE/World Heavyweight/ECW Championship Match
CM Punk VS. Mark Henry VS. Kane VS. Shelton Benjamin VS. Christian VS. Kofi Kingston VS. Montel Vontavious Porter (WWE United States ©) VS. Finlay
Jesse: Why in the hell do they have Kane or Mark Henry in this match? Can you see them running up a ladder? Maybe Henry can just use his "World's Strongest Man" legs and jump up from the ring and grab the briefcase. And also, has Finlay been in this match every year? But the rest of this match should be great just like all the others.
Winner: Christian
Devin: I'm going with Captain Charisma on this one. Firstly, he just returned and is need a popularity boost. Also, it could set up a show down between Edge and Christian for a world title match. Kane is I think a very likely pick as well but he is a marked target and Kane climbing a ladder would take forever. The rest of the wrestlers are all good but CM Punk already had the title (which he should never have gotten), Mark Henry is just big and dumb, MVP has a title and if he gets another one his head may explode with arrogance (sorry man I wish could give you a time out in this one), Finlay just needs to continue to protect is leprechaun son and Shelton Benjamin and his gold standard will just continue to not work (Blonde hair is not doing you justice man, Dennis Rodman wants his hair back and may just have to come back in a match and whoop your ass). Christian and his charisma get him through a tight match and Kane will once again become an even more evil character who seems to never get it done no matter how mad he gets.
Winner: Christian
Jon: This should be a great match (minus Mark Henry) and everyone brings something different but good to the table (minus Mark Henry). I could see anyone winning this match (minus Mark Henry). Kane never gets a serious push unless it is a last minute type deal, CM Punk won it last year, and MVP is already the US Champ. They wouldn't let Finlay win it although he is a pretty good wrestler. I would love to see Kofi get a push and set up a WWE title match with Edge since Edge knocked Kofi out of the chamber. I do not think they will push Kofi though and since they haven't done anything good with Christian since he came back I'm going to have to go with Christian.
Winner: Christian
Lonnie: Personally I only think that Christian, MVP, or Shelton have a chance of winning this as the others are not up and coming stars or have had their chance already besides Kofi. And when it comes to him, if they wanted to get him to the main event Edge would not have taken him out at No Way Out. Shelton is here for his athletic ability, MVP has been on a roll lately, and Christian is just great!!! (I am a proud member of the Peepulation) Probably against my better judgment of picking MVP I am going to pick this one with my heart....
Winner: Christian
John Bob: Well lets look at the contestants shall we. It should be entertaining to see Mark Henry climb a ladder but the way I see it...he has no chance. Kane is a loyal company man but I can't picture him winning. CM Punk won it last year so I don't see him winning as I don't think the WWE will let him win two years in a row. Finlay is just there, he won't win. If they were serious about pushing Kofi Kingston, they would of let him compete in the elimination chamber at No Way Out. But since he didn't even get to be in the match even though he qualified, I don't view him as a serious contender. So we're down to three. I could see Christian, Shelton, and MVP winning this thing. Christian hasn't done anything too great since returning to ECW and the other two have been feuding over the United States title. MVP just won the United States title from Shelton so I don't think he will be getting it. Everyone seems to be on Christian's bandwagon since he returned but I don't think he needs the briefcase to be over with the fans. Plus, I like it better when a heel has the briefcase and Shelton has risked his life in these matches so I think he deserves to finally win one. So against my better judgment, I'm going with Shelton.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Shawn Michaels VS. Undertaker
Jesse: Wow this match brings back great memories. I really think both of these guys will bring their A-game, and put on a show. And it's already been written in the record books that Taker will never lose at WrestleMania, even if this is his last one.
Winner: Undertaker
Devin: Undertaker wins hands down. Shawn Michaels has provoked the beast and unfortunately he did it without a sword or shield. Also, Undertaker's streak will never die. Shawn Michaels is going to need more than a band and more than an elbow drop to beat Undertaker. Undertaker will be pushed but Undertaker will shove back and bury the heart break kid into retirement. How old is Shawn again? Heck, Undertaker is old too but who cares? He doesn't walk around like an old man like Shawn.
Winner: Undertaker
Jon: This should be the best match of the night and has the potential to be one of the greatest WrestleMania has ever seen. Shawn will do his thing and Undertaker will do his. I could see Shawn controlling a lot of the match as he does so well. But in the end, I don't see the deadman losing in his hometown. Shawn will probably hit a superkick for a count of 2.9, but Taker isn't going to lose tonight.
Winner: Undertaker
Lonnie: Good build up and probably going to be in the running for match of the year. But think about it....They have had Shawn get the upper hand every time for a month just so that the fans may think he has a shot against the streak. This shows how out of hand the streak is as it has made the finish to what should be one of the best matches very predictable. Never pick against the streak!!
Winner: Undertaker
John Bob: This will be match of the night! The build has been great with awesome promos by both men. However, there's an old saying...something along the lines of "You don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind, and You don't pick against Undertaker at WrestleMania". As great as Shawn is, I just think there is no way that Undertaker will ever lose at WrestleMania even if he is facing Mr. WrestleMania. Chalk another one up for the Deadman...17-0.
Winner: Undertaker
Extreme Rules Match
Matt Hardy VS. Jeff Hardy
Jesse: This might be match of the year. Just look at how great these guys work together. Then throw in the extreme rules, and you've got a gem. I can see Jeff flying off a ladder to win the match.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
Devin: This match, I feel, is a sure pick with Jeff Hardy. Jeff show up with the war paint and Matt will have his dumb hand sign. Jeff has always been a better wrestler and will continue to be better. I would expect a lot of mirroring of moves and Jeff doing something crazy to win it all. Jeff shoots Matt's head off and not his own in this one.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
Jon: This could be a decent match since they added the extreme rules to it. I could see Jeff doing something crazy to pick up the win over his brother. They will probably give Jeff another push here in the next few months so I don't see Jeff losing to Matt.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
Lonnie: For some reason I think I have seen this brotherly feud before and do not remember even liking it the first time. This should be entertaining and I can see this battle carrying over into the summer. I think Matt needs to win here as no matter what Jeff will be popular and Matt needs a win to stay credible in my opinion.
Winner: Matt Hardy
John Bob: First of all, I'm glad this is an Extreme Rules match! I don't think this match would of delivered if it had been a normal one-on-one match. Matt Hardy has really risen his game in regards to the build of this match. However, unlike WrestleMania X when the heel brother won (Owen over Bret), I think Jeff is going to get the win. I expect this match and MitB to be major spotfests (I think a ladder will be used in this match). On a side note, I think they went ahead and made this match extreme rules because I think this may be the end of the feud. I don't know where it could go after this and I would venture to say that one of the brothers will get drafted elsewhere after WrestleMania.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
John "Bradshaw" Layfield (©) VS. Rey Mysterio
Jesse: Hey at least these guys have a match. This will be a mediocre match with a mediocre finish, and hopefully Rey doesn't win. Because I don't want to see them pull out the children's Intercontinental belt for Rey.
Winner: John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Devin: I am seriously torn on this one. Rey Mysterio has been on the down slope of his career lately and JBL is wrestling in a bad market. I don't really care and there is no Mike Knox to screw Rey over (unless JBL uses what is left of his market shares to pay Mike Knox to show up). I don't have much else to say but Rey Mysterio kicks JBL out of the 619 and into another area code. It really pains me to say that though because I can't stand Rey and his mask. They should make it an unmasking match.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Jon: JBL just won the title not too long ago and Mysterio has been used recently to get the crowd into a match but lose in the end. I don't see JBL losing this one.
Winner: John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Lonnie: Finally an Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania!!!! But sadly I got to see this match on live tv this week on Raw which totally takes away from what is going to be happening here. JBL and Rey do not mesh very well and the shorter this match is the happier I will be. That being said, I think JBL has to win here as Rey beat him on Raw just a few days ago.
Winner: John "Bradshaw" Layfield
John Bob: Can someone please explain to me why we saw this match on the Raw before WrestleMania? It makes absolutely no sense. Oh well though...can't change it now. But since Rey won cleanly, one would have to think that JBL picks up the win here. As for his big WrestleMania moment, it's been rumored that JBL will be re-retiring soon, so I'll say he beats Rey and retires as the Intercontinental champ. Hopefully he can then go back to the announce table as he is still gold on the mic.
Winner: John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena VS. Edge (©) VS. Big Show
Jesse: What in the world is Big Show doing in this match? Shouldn't he just be in that big battle royal that they do before WrestleMania with all the rejects? He might win that. But Edge and Cena will make this match, and Big Show is just there to show Cena's FU strength. I also pray Cena doesn't win this match with the great "I only win with this at WrestleMania" STFU.
Winner: Edge
Devin: I have to go with my man John Cena. Big Show is too busy kissing Vickie (eww eww eww, can you say drop in television ratings) and Edge is to busy trying to act like he really cares. John Cena should and will regain his title. Also, Edge and Vickie, I think are headed for a divorce and this will be the beginning of the end for Edge and Vickie (thank the lord). Big Show will end up hitting someone with his knock out punch but that person may be Vickie (Hopefully it will be so we don't have to look at her face anymore and she can go back to her incapacitated neck brace and wheel chair). John says FU and returns the belt to the Chain Gang.
Winner: John Cena
Jon: We have seen this match before when Mysterio over came the odds beating Orton and Angle. Cena's entire character is based off of him overcoming odds and beating Shawn Michaels and Triple H in main events and who could forget that monumental win at Judgement Day '07 over the talented, watermelon sqaushing Great Khali. (I was kidding about the talented part). Cena's entire career has been about finding a way to win on the big stage and I see him beating Edge and Show; taking the title back to Raw. However the real winner will be the WWE fans as long as we don't see Vickie kiss anyone.
Winner: John Cena
Lonnie: Big Show has been on a roll lately but sadly I still believe that he has no shot at all of winning this. Between Edge and Cena I think it could go either way. Cena has a movie out, but Edge is a great champion and is entertaining with Vickie even if it does get annoying at times. In general, WWE has a movie not doing well at the box office that needs help and needs to counter act who wins the main event so Cena should pull this one out.
Winner: John Cena
John Bob: I must say that I'm not a fan of this match nor am I a fan of this storyline. The World Heavyweight title has been brought into a ridiculous love triangle. The saddest thing is that I could see any of the three walking away with the belt. Did I mention that I don't like that SmackDown has both world titles right now. So, Raw has to get one of them somehow whether it's via the championship matches at WrestleMania or through the draft on April 13th. My heart says Edge gets the win but I think the WWE will give Cena the win since he is the one with a movie that's out and show the fans that Cena can once again overcome the odds.
Winner: John Cena
WWE Championship Match
Triple H can lose the title by DQ or Count Out
Triple H (©) VS. Randy Orton
Jesse: Oh I bet someone gets hurt in this match. I hope it's not Orton because he's a decent wrestler even though he's boring on the mic. But I also hope it's not HHH because then he'll lose the belt and win it back in 9 months when he gets done with rehab in order to get closer to Ric Flair's 16 World Championships. (P.S. Really it's more, but WWE won't count the other ones. Another reason why "The Nature Boy" is the greatest wrestler ever........eeeeevvvvvveeeerrr. WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!)
Winner: Triple H
Devin: In this match I originally had Randy Orton winning but now I have to go with Triple H. Orton has managed to play mind games to even possibly out do The Game. Not sure if that is really possible but I have to go with Triple H because Orton has made a huge mistake. He has hit another McMahon (I.E. Stephanie). He has now hit all three and I think they get their revenge at WrestleMania. Not to mention I know John is picking Orton and I have to go against him. Orton losing will make the 50 dollar price tag of WrestleMania all the more worth it. If Orton wins, it won't be because he won fairly. Someone is getting a sledgehammer to the head and Orton is more likely have his peanut head smashed in. Orton will lose but Triple H will get beaten up some how. So hopefully it's not Game Over after this WrestleMania.
Winner: Triple H
Jon: Over many of the past WrestleManias the main event has been won by the face with the fireworks and confetti coming down as the show goes off the air. I don't see it ending any differently with this one. After WrestleMania, Raw and Smackdown will both have a champion. This means that if Edge or Big Show wins the other main event, Orton is taking the belt home. I don't see it happening as Triple H hasn't won a main even at WrestleMania in quite some time. It doesn't make much sense to have him win the belt just to lose it a month later.
Winner: Triple H
Lonnie: With the great elimination of the McMahons and this "personal" feud, I am a happy man. One thing I do not understand though...How is the man teaming with the McMahons the fan favorite still? Orton has been priceless in recent weeks when creative lets him be the aggressive ass that many love to hate. I see an Orton win here as the only stain on his career right now is that he can never beat Triple H and he needs that to go away. Hopefully an Orton WrestleMania win this year will lead to the real Age of Orton and a long title reign to take us to SummerSlam. Or at least I can hope.
Winner: Randy Orton
John Bob: This is the match I can't wait for. The WWE has a chance to make Orton the biggest heel for the next ten years! All they have to do is let him finish this off and finally defeat Triple H. Think about it...Orton has gotten away with everything since day one! If Triple H wins, he gets revenge for the whole McMahon family. If Orton wins, he gets away with everything he has done. Althought I would love for Orton to beat TripleH cleanly and get the monkey off his back of never being able to beat him, I wouldn't be suprised if he gets help from Rhodes and DiBiase. Then, there is always the possiblity that a McMahon (any of them) could turn on Triple H and align with Legacy. Last year was suppose to be Orton's big moment when he defeated Cena and Triple H. However, a lot of people have already forgotten about it. Therefore, Orton NEEDS this win and needs to beat Triple H at WrestleMania.
Winner: Randy Orton
